What it is

Facials and peels are the foundation layer of any skin plan: facials hydrate, deep-clean and refresh the skin immediately; peels use controlled exfoliation to renew it over 5–7 days, targeting acne, open pores, pigmentation, sun damage and dullness. Both are delivered by Anne, who has worked with AlumierMD medical-grade skincare since 2017.

What it treats

  • Acne and open pores — the Radiant Glow peel's core indication.
  • Pigmentation and sun damage — with the TXA option for uneven tone.
  • Dull, tired skin — the instant-glow facials.
  • Dryness and dehydration — the Medik8 hydrating facial.
  • Blackheads and texture — medical microdermabrasion.

Is it right for me?

There is a facial or peel for nearly every skin type and age — the question is which one. That's the consultation's job: Anne will look at your skin, tell you honestly which treatment fits and which doesn't, and set realistic expectations. Some concerns (deep scarring, significant laxity) need a deeper treatment like RF microneedling — and we'll say so.

Facials & peels pricing

Facials start from £75 (Medik8 Hydrating Facial, Medical Microdermabrasion) and AlumierMD peels from £125, both including aftercare where stated. The full price list is on our prices page.

The evidence

Chemical peels are among the longest-studied treatments in dermatology. A systematic review of trials in photo-ageing found glycolic acid peels deliver measurable improvement in fine wrinkling, texture and pigmentation, with histology confirming increased collagen in the dermis after a course — the effect is real remodelling, not just surface exfoliation. Superficial peels compare well with microdermabrasion in head-to-head trials, with similar outcomes and downtime. What the research is honest about: peel depth determines the result — superficial peels are gradual and cumulative, deeper peels carry more downtime and risk — and darker skin types need careful acid selection to avoid pigmentation triggers.

Common questions

Facial or peel — which do I need?

If you want an immediate glow and relaxation, a facial. If you're targeting acne, pigmentation or sun damage, a peel. The consultation settles it honestly.

Do peels hurt?

Mild tingling or warmth for a few minutes; the skin then renews gently over 5–7 days.

How often should I book?

Facials monthly; peels as a course then seasonally. Anne will set the plan for your skin.

Can I have a facial or peel in summer?

Yes — with SPF discipline. The aftercare kit includes SPF for exactly this reason.

What to expect

A treatment takes around 30–45 minutes. Anne cleanses and prepares the skin, applies the treatment, and talks you through aftercare — including the skincare to use at home. Depending on the treatment, you'll either leave with an immediate glow or experience a gentle renewal over the following 5–7 days. You'll know which before you start.

Facials and peels work beautifully alongside energy-based treatments — see HIFU, RF microneedling and IPL for deeper skin concerns, or ask Anne at consultation what combination suits you.

Not sure which is right for you?

A consultation is the honest way to find out. Anne will look at your skin, recommend the right treatment, and tell you what's realistically achievable.
