What it is

Anti-wrinkle injections use prescription-only botulinum toxin to relax the specific muscles that create expression lines — the frown between the brows, the horizontal forehead lines, and the crow's feet at the eyes. It is the most-studied aesthetic treatment in the world, with a safety record built over decades of clinical use.

The treatment is administered by an Independent Nurse Prescriber, Georgie, and her team of nurse prescribers. • Results build over 14 days, after which you will be offered a complimentary review — adjustments can be made then if needed.
• Results typically last three to four months; a top-up keeps the effect even.

Is it right for me?

Anti-wrinkle treatment suits people with expression lines they'd like softened while keeping natural movement — the aim is a rested look, never a frozen one. It is not suitable during pregnancy or breastfeeding, or for certain neuromuscular conditions; the consultation covers all of this honestly. The evidence

Anti-wrinkle injections are the most-studied treatment in aesthetic medicine — botulinum toxin has been examined in dozens of randomised, double-blind, placebo-controlled trials. A 2020 systematic review of onset and duration in the upper face (Journal of Clinical and Aesthetic Dermatology) reported effects beginning within 1–4 days and typically lasting 3–5 months at standard doses. The pivotal phase III trials for glabellar (frown) lines consistently showed a large majority of participants achieving visibly smoother lines at maximum frown, compared with very few on placebo. What the research is honest about: results are temporary — lines gradually return as the muscle recovers — and the treatment works on muscle-driven lines, not on static lines or skin texture.

Aftercare

• Stay upright for 4 hours after treatment — no lying flat or head massages
• Avoid rubbing or massaging the treated areas for 24 hours
• No intense exercise, alcohol, saunas or sunbeds for 24 hours
• Makeup is fine the next day, kept gentle over the treated areas

Tiny bumps at the injection points are normal and settle within 20–30 minutes. Results begin to show over 2–3 days, with the full effect at around 14 days — that's when your free review happens, to fine-tune the result if needed.
